The Mission US Meetup is a monthly meeting where educators and experts get together to discuss a pertinent social studies topic.

Dr. Karen (Kat) Schrier is Full Professor and Director of Games & Emerging Media at Marist. She is also a game design consultant for World Health Organization (WHO) and CEO of PlatyPlay, LLC, which designs games for care, health, and inclusion. Dr. Schrier is the author/editor of over 100 published works, including We the Gamers (Oxford University Press) and Knowledge Games (JHU Press). She has over 20 years of experience in game development, and has worked for Nickelodeon, Scholastic, and BrainPOP.
