The Mission US Meetup is a monthly meeting where educators and experts get together to discuss a pertinent social studies topic. At this month’s meetup, we’ll discuss the power of reflection in education, focusing on the changes we made to our educator guides for Mission US.
We’ll be joined by special guest Dan Sigward, who created the updated educator guides. Dan is an independent educational consultant with expertise in developing curriculum for middle and high school social studies classrooms. A former middle school social studies teacher, Dan worked at Facing History & Ourselves for more than ten years, where he researched, wrote, and edited classroom resources about the Holocaust, the Reconstruction Era in U.S. history, and a variety of other topics.
