Join our March Meetup: Women’s history in the SS curriculum

The Mission US Meetup is a monthly meeting where educators and experts get together to discuss a pertinent social studies topic. At this month’s meetup, we’ll focus on women’s history in the social studies curriculum, with a look at the Mission US interactive game City of Immigrants and women factory workers in the Progressive Era.

We’ll be joined by special guest Charlotte Mangin, a documentary filmmaker with over 20 years of experience in multimedia storytelling. Charlotte is the creator of Unladylike2020, an innovative animated documentary series about unsung women who changed America at the turn of the 20th century and the women who now follow in their footsteps, which premiered on PBS’s flagship biography series American Masters in honor of the centennial of women’s suffrage. As Executive Producer, Charlotte is currently mentoring a team of filmmakers with disabilities to create a new digital shorts series for American Masters titled Renegades about historical figures with disabilities and how they transformed America.

Join us for the discussion on Tuesday, March 11th from 7:00-8:00 PM Eastern Time!
